Here’s the new piece I’m working on. I could easily spend the next few weeks adding more details, but when does one stop, and why should they?
The Work of Denis Sire
Frenchman Denis Sire’s passion for illustrating chicks and bikes is probably only matched by his love for drawing chicks and cars. He was born in 1953 in Saint Nazaire, and studied art in Paris at ‘L’Ecole des Arts Appliqués. His style is reminiscent of all those glorious washed out advertisements which were so prevalent decades ago, and his work can be seen stateside in such illustrious places as Heavy Metal Magazine and Playboy.
Koth – The Dark Angel
One of the righteous posters reproduced in the book: Ultraviolet: 69 Classic Blacklight Posters from the Aquarian Age and Beyond.
“Snake Charmer” by Granda
The latest piece I’m working on is called “Snake Charmer”. It continues my pursuit to capture the spirit of my childhood idols, consisting mainly of Richard Corben, Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, Moebius, Tanino Liberatore, and a slew of other artists featured in the first ten glorious years of Heavy Metal Magazine.
