Head over HERE and pick one up today, otherwise your journey into the outer realms will be lonely, dark, and sad.

Triple Six Crew Death Co.’s New Site and Gear

March 28, 2014 by Tim Granda

DC-tiny-wedge Ohio’s infamous Triple Six Crew Death Co. just debuted a new web site along with some killer new gear. The new “Lifestyles” section of the site is jam packed with stellar photos by the one and only Mikey Arnold, and when you want to know what the hell is going on in the mid-west, make “Death and Destruction” your first destination.

The Triple Six shop is also stacked high with new stuff. Their latest design “Jesus Never Warned Me About Titties” was created by the amazing Horsebites (aka Richird Minino), who joins a growing list of some of the raddest artists out there who all happen to be producing work for Triple Six. “Jesus… Titties” is currently available on a t-shirt and tank top, so reach out and grab a pair today.

Also up for grabs is “Slippery When Wet” by the awesome Gorgeous George. The t-shirt has both a pocket print and a full back, so you know the ladies will be checking you out whether you’re coming or going.

Heavy Metal Monday – Ep. 4

March 24, 2014 by Tim Granda

DC-tiny-wedge Welcome back to another installment of Heavy Metal Monday, a new series here on Doom Cycle which features my scans from the first 10 years of Heavy Metal Magazine. Each episode is guaranteed to blow your mind with a barrage of killer artwork from all over the globe. Though you won’t see complete stories, you will find rad panels, full pages, back covers, and some cool ads. It’s going to be a killer trip so make sure to stop by whenever you see a new episode announced.

This week I’ve got some rad stuff for ya! First up is a gorgeous page out of Moebius’ “Ballade”, followed by a tripped out page from “The Bird of Dust” by the mighty Caza and writer Bazolli.  Each of these stories are EPIC so it would be worth your while to track them down.

Next up is an ad for the mail order catalog Krupp, which carried underground classics Snatch and Slow Death. A page from “Master” by the always satisfyingly bizarre Nicollet will fuck with your head, while an excerpt from “Polonius”, written by Picaret and illustrated by Tardi, drops us into a really cool story that’s been going on for a few issues now.

Closing us out this time is the November ’77 back cover by Tom Barber, followed by a seriously epic double-page pulled  from EE Davis’ “World Apart”. Man, I can’t get enough of that series right now. It fucking rules!

See ya next time!

Doom Cycle Logo by Tall Boy!

March 24, 2014 by Tim Granda

DC-tiny-wedge If you’ve been wondering why it’s been so damn quiet around here lately, it’s because my wife and I just bought our first house. You never realize how much shit you’ve accumulated until it’s time to make a move, and damn do we have a lot of shit!

So this past weekend we packed the last truck, scrubbed down the old place, and when the dust settled I noticed an email waiting for me from Tall Boy (the killer artist I recently interviewed, and one of the driving forces behind the awesome Night Watch ‘zine). Inside was his rad interpretation of the Doom Cycle logo which will appear in an upcoming issue of Night Watch! Fuckin’ HELL! Did he kill it or what?! I’m starting to see some rad shirts, pins, or whatever featuring this masterpiece in the future. Tall Boy rules!!!

Heavy Metal Monday – Ep. 3

March 3, 2014 by Tim Granda

DC-tiny-wedge Welcome back to another installment of Heavy Metal Monday, a new series here on Doom Cycle which features my scans from the first 10 years of Heavy Metal Magazine. Each episode is guaranteed to blow your mind with a barrage of killer artwork from all over the globe. Though you won’t see complete stories, you will find rad panels, full pages, back covers, and some cool ads. It’s going to be a killer trip so make sure to stop by whenever you see a new episode announced.

This installment features some awesome stuff! First up is a back cover from the October ’77 issue that was drawn by one of the greatest artists to ever lift a pen: Bernie Wrightson. He was in his late twenties when he created this piece, and it was the first time his work was featured in the magazine. In June of 1980, his story Captain Sternn would make it’s debut; later becoming a killer sequence in the Heavy Metal animated film.

Richard Corben is back with another trippy page from Den, and the amazing Dionnet (the dude who drew Heavy Metal‘s first cover) teams up with Sole in a featured page from In You I Am Reborn. Now, it wouldn’t be a stretch to call Moebius the greatest comic book artist of all-time (’cause he fucking is), so he’s got two pages coming at ya: The first is one in which he teamed up with writer Dan O’Bannon (Dark Star, Alien, etc.) for The Long Tomorrow, and the second is a page from How Good Is Man, which demonstrates the magnitude of his ass kicking.

Also on display is Rockblitz by Sergio Macedo, an old ad for the book Views by album cover icon Roger Dean, and a stellar page from Teonanacatl Genese by Cortman. Check this shit out!
