Japanese artist Sadam (Yoshizawa) wields a pen with the same skill and grace as his idol Kyuzo weilds a sword. But where Kyuzo, one of Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai, spent most of his time slicing open bandits with his katana, Sadam spends his time slicing up abandoned pools with his skateboard. Many of you with a skating background may already be familiar with Sadam’s work in Thrasher, or have seen some of his boards, but for the rest of us, this show is just getting started!
Sadam (Yoshizawa)
His work brings together all the ingredients bikers typically love: skulls, babes, demons, snakes, flames, frogs… well, maybe not frogs, but Sadam makes a great case for them! While his subject matter has great appeal, it’s his masterful technique that will knock you out. It wouldn’t surprise me if some shops and magazines in the build community start knocking on this guy’s door.
In the meantime, head over to Sadam’s site and grab some of his cool shirts and posters. You’ll be able to say you were into this dude’s stuff before all your buddies were.
