Heavy Clothing – Propaganda 1
I’m really stoked to announce that I’ve teamed up with Heavy Clothing for three animated shorts, the first of which you can see below! Heavy is without a doubt my fave clothing co., so it’s been a fuckin’ trip puttin’ this first one together. The artists Zac Doom brings to the table are the best dudes around, and to have the opportunity to animate their work is insane. If that wasn’t enough, Zac also brought in the band Mothership off the Ripple Music label to provide all the killer music for these films. With all these rad folks on board, how the hell can ya fuck that up? Seriously, click on all those links and you’ll see for yourself that this crew is the real deal.
Some of the artist you’re seein’ in this flick are Scott Trerrotola, Mike Mastrangelo and David Paul Seymour (both of whom I’ve had the great fortune of speakin’ with), and also Matt Wilkins (who’s interview is right around the corner). Once the films are complete, you’ll be able to catch a one-film special-edition on the Doom Cycle channel at Motornation.tv which will feature all three films tied together with brand new footage! It’s gonna melt your mind!

David Gant
It’s always a trip to discover a new artist that you really dig. Someone who’s work ignites your brain and sends shock waves through out your system. You could be having the shittiest of days, and then in an instant, all is right as rain. Such was the case when I stumbled upon the work of artist David Gant while reading a post by artist Mike Mastrangelo’s on his Instagram page.
Word is, Gant also has an upcoming cover in the works for a future issue of Show Class Magazine, which isn’t much of a surprise. The dudes at Show Class have an uncanny ability to spot talent, and Gant has his fair share of it. Check out a few examples of his work below, stop by his site to see more, and keep your eyes peeled here on Doom Cycle for the latest news on artist David Gant.
Mike Mastrangelo Interview – Video Tease!
Check out the new video tease for the interview with artist Mike Mastrangelo, which debuts this Friday! Mike’s work with Show Class Magazine and Heavy Clothing has been such a killer match-up so far (have you seen the epic Manson Heavy head? Fuck!), and it sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot more insane stuff in the future. His work kicks lots of ass, and it oozes gallons of soul. So turn up your speakers and prepare for a trip into the mind of a master: Mike Mastrangelo!
The track featured in the video is by the killer doom band Monolord, and it’s called “Empress Rising”. They appear courtesy of RidingEasy Records.
The version heard here was edited by me to fit the video (from 12 minutes down to about 50 seconds). You can grab the original on sweet vinyl from RidingEasy Records or get it digitally on iTunes.
Mike Mastrangelo’s “Southern Gentleman”
Artist Mike Mastrangelo teamed up with Show Class Magazine to produce this rad poster called “Southern Gentleman” to honor Larry Pierce, the owner of Garage Co Customs who recently passed away. The prints are limited to just 100, and Larry’s wife Ashley signed and numbered every one. All proceeds of “Southern Gentleman” will be used to help Ashley and the family.
Stop by now and grab a print for yourself before they’re all gone!
To see more of Mastrangelo’s killer art, stay tuned for my upcoming interview with the man. It’ll be worth the wait!
